Hague Accreditation Authority
Applicants for Designation as an Accrediting Entity
The Department of State issued a Request for Statements of Interest (RSI) to invite
applicants to apply to become designated accrediting entities on October 16, 2003.
Statements of Interest in response to that RSI were due by November 17, 2003. On
December 4, 2003, the Department announced a second opportunity for applicants to
submit Statements of Interest. The deadline for this second opportunity was April 30,
2004. Three private, non-profit accreditors have applied and the following State
licensing authorities have applied by these deadlines:
State Licensing Authorities:
Colorado Department of Human Services
Connecticut Department of Children and Families
Maryland Department of Human Resources
New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department
Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare
Utah Department of Human Services
Vermont Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services
Wyoming Department of Family Services
Since both deadlines have now passed, the Department is no longer accepting applications
for designation as an accrediting entity. The Department is currently in the process of
evaluating those applicants that applied by the November 17 and April 30 deadlines. Once
the Department has determined which of those applicants are potentially eligible for
designation, it will commence negotiation of a Memorandum of Agreement with each
eligible entity.
