Starting with a brass bell, artisans in Russia add a basswood head. Then, the face
and body are hand painted to represent heroes of legend, festive costumes, or flights
of fantasy.
Finally, thread hair is nicely braided down the dolls back and an ornamented hat
(kokoshnik) is added to complete the doll. As a decorative piece, a Christmas ornament
or to call the family for dinner, the Brass Bell Doll makes a lovely addition to your home. It can also
be rung on special occasions, like "gottcha day", birthdays, anniversary celebrations
